St. John Lutheran Church - Letter to Families

Dear St. John Families,

We hope you had a restful and joy-filled summer!

As we begin a new school year, we're excited to welcome you back for another year of Faith Formation and Confirmation at St. John. Whether your family is returning or joining us for the first time, we look forward to growing together in faith, community, and God's love.

After a year of offering both Sunday and Wednesday night programming, we've decided to move forward with Wednesday nights as our primary Faith Formation time, with a simplified Sunday option for our youngest learners.

Wednesday Night Schedule

Meal- 5:30-6:00PM
- A light meal is served in the Fellowship Hall for all students and families.
Class Time- 6:00-6:45PM
- Grades 2-4: Faith Formation (Wednesday night session will be geared specifically toward these older elementary grades).
- Grades 5-6: Pre-Confirmation
- Grades 7-8: Confirmation
Worship- 6:45-7:15PM
- A short, meaningful time of worship for students and their parents to attend together. We encourage families to come and worship side-by-side as we grow in faith as a community.
9th grade:
- We will meet on the 1st Wednesday of the month (Oct-May) from 7:15-8:00PM.
- Students are encouraged to attend Worship at 6:45PM with their mentor.

Sunday Morning Option for Younger Students

We will be offering a simplified Sunday School program for PreK-1st grade, held from 10:15-10:45AM, immediately following the Sunday morning Worship Service. This option is specifically designed for our youngest learners and families who prefer to attend on Sunday mornings.

Parent/Student Meetings- Wednesday, September 10th

Meal 6-6:30PM
Faith Formation (Grades 2-6): 6:30PM in the Sanctuary.
Confirmation (Grades 7-9): 6:30PM in the Fellowship Hall.
Wednesday Night Worship 7-7:30PM

Volunteers & Meal Sign-Up

To make our Wednesday nights a success, we are asking for your support:

Weekly Meals- Each family needs to provide a meal on one Wednesday night. (Sign Up Genius link below)
Classroom Volunteer- Parents are expected to volunteer 2 times a year in their child's classroom (per child). (Sign UP Genius link below)

Many families find it helpful to sign up for both the meal and classroom support on the same evening- a great way to stay connected and involved!

Registration- Wednesday, September 10th

Please register your child(ren) online using the registration button below by or on September 10th. This helps us prepare for the correct number of students. If you would like to volunteer on a regular basis please indicate that on the register form. Otherwise use the Sign Up Genius links below. Non-members are always welcome to attend. Please complete the registration form so we have contact information in the event of an emergency.
