St. John Lutheran Church - Letter to Families

To the Parents of 7th & 8th Grade Confirmation Students,

You and your child are invited to attend our Confirmation Parent & Student Meeting on Wednesday, September 10 at 6 PM.

Meal 6-6:30PM
Confirmation (Grades 7-9): 6:30PM in the Fellowship Hall.
Wednesday Night Worship 7-7:30PM

At your child’s baptism, you promised to nurture them in faith—bringing them to worship, teaching them prayer, scripture, and the Christian life. Confirmation is one way we continue to live out those promises together. More than a milestone, it is a journey of faith formation, rooted in Jesus’ call:
“Go therefore and make disciples… teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20).

Schedule:

5:30–6:00 PM – Meal (parents will sign up to provide)
6:00–6:45 PM – Confirmation Class (Classroom volunteers needed)
6:45–7:15 PM – Worship Service (opportunity for sermon notes)

This year we will continue our Re:Form (a fresh look at the Catechism) curriculum and God’s promises through Scripture.

Expectations:

Students should attend weekly classes (20 total) and Wednesday Lenten services (6).
Because community and consistency are essential, students should miss no more than four classes.

Volunteers & Meal Sign-Up

To make our Wednesday nights a success, we are asking for your support:

Weekly Meals- Each family needs to provide a meal on one Wednesday night. (Sign Up Genius link below)
Classroom Volunteer- Parents are expected to volunteer 2 times a year in their child's classroom (per child). (Sign UP Genius link below)

Many families find it helpful to sign up for both the meal and classroom support on the same evening- a great way to stay connected and involved!

Registration- Wednesday, September 10th

Please register your child(ren) online using the registration button below by or on September 10th. This helps us prepare for the correct number of students. If you would like to volunteer on a regular basis please indicate that on the registration form. Otherwise use the Sign Up Genius links below. Non-members are always welcome to attend class. Please fill out a registration form so that we have contact information in the event of an emergency.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to partner with you in your child's faith journey. We're praying for a year full of growth, laughter, and deeper connection with Jesus and one another.
